shopbop wish list.

Today was a BAD DAY. So, I drowned my sorrows in online shopping. Online window shopping. Virtual shopping? Whatever. I spent an hour looking at ShopBop and drinking endless free hot chocolates from the Hampton Inn lobby. And made a list of my most favorites, thought admittedly they are equally out of reach.
1) and 2) CC Skye Victoria Wristlet Clutch, $275.
3) Vince Leather Tank Dress, $542.
4) Mettle Simi's Brass Bag, $258.
5) Made Her Think Reverse Choker, $247.

PS Do you think Cinna would wear that Reverse Choker?! I totally do. Simple, elegant, understated and unexpected. He (and the Lenny Kravitz version of him) are my new style icons. I may not be able to afford that necklace but I CAN afford MAC gold liquid liner.
PPS If you feel like cheering me up, text me for my new address- the move is upon us.

play suit city.

I don't have air conditioning anymore. And in Chicago it's already been in the 80's. This does not bode well. In preparation, I am getting lots of light, silky materials, play suits, rompers, et cetera. For night, I slept on a street to get fancy Marni H&M jammies. For day, I am thinking this TopShop jammie two piece. I think it's ok for hot days outside. It is, right? Also, this print is killing it.
Option: Kimono instead for a shortest dress ever?

mid life crisis.

Is 30 too young for a midlife crisis? I had the tiniest one ever. I just went crazy. And got one ear double pierced at a Claires in the middle of rural Pennsylvania by an old grandma type who made me hold a dirty teddy bear.
All so I could do this-- layer my favorite earring in the SAME ear. Next level stuff, huh?

dope dress(es).

Where in the world did winter go? It's SPRING! I went to Forevs and readied myself with some drapey button down dress/shirt things. BUT in a different world where Mister Marmol's money trees finally grow in, I would be hanging these in my closet. Dying for. Marni shift and Roberto Cavalli pleated mini.

h&m x vpl ?

Speeeaaaaakkking of H&M, I also picked up a bralette/hipster set. Pretty hard VPL knockoff, no? Not that it stopped me from spending the 20 bucks or anything....

marimekko x commes des garcon.

I've been eyeballing the Marimekko x CDG shirts at Dover Street for a little bit now. Just lookin, no way I can spend 120 euros (so, like, 8 million american dollars? Is my math right?) on a t-shirt. But I just liiiikkkkeeee them. A lot. I'm way into the contrast pocket and the ones with the contrast waist and wrist bands.
I saw this poor imitation at Old Navy and thought, Eh. WHY NOT? For $14 it's like I have my own sort of MarimekkoCDG! At least until I wash it and it becomes a slubby ill-fitting shirt. I think I have at least 2-3 wears.
Marimekko x Commes des Garcon, All 120 Euros, at Dover Street Market.
Multi Stripe Long Sleeves, $13- $17, Old Navy.

PS I have been watching too many late night Project Runway reruns and can't help but appreciate the care they took on a cheap t-shirt to match up those pocket stripes. Well done.

nightwalk. AGAIN and AGAIN.

Just tripping down the street in some Night Walks. N. B. D. Nasty Gal has a whole mess of new style. I MAY like the plain ole MaryJanes best still, I mean less is more when the back looks like that. Right? Maybe.
I also am diggin on the nails. I wish they weren't nails though. More just silver discs. The nail part makes them a little too industrial for my tastes but from a distance, I adore.
I wish I could wear these. But I am over 30. And not Goth.

NightWalks at NastyGal.
Night Nail Platform, $175.
Shadow Stud Platform, $225.

laura lombardi, of a kind.

I have the best boyfriend ever. Duh. Also, I heart times one million Laura Lombardi (both the darling girl and her great jewelry line.) I fancy myself somewhat of a collector of her items. Below you will see me wearing her necklace, a prefect little golden rectangle and a bracelet she helped me make.
I haven't seen the necklace on her etsy or in stores yet, but keep your eyeballs peeled for it. You can layer it with anything and its the simplest way to wear a gold when you want to keep it classy. I got it a long standing her-stuff-for-my-stuff trade we have going. We both end up with good stuff. I went to her studio not to trade stuff for amazing jewels, but for help making bracelets (I also am wearing above.) We (read: she) put together this pile:
The coins were from my great uncles restaurant, The Corona, that closed forever ago. Long before I was a twinkle in anyones eye. My mom found them in the basement and we made a bracelet for his wife, my great aunt gloria, and smaller ones for his daughters. Aren't they pretty? Nice to have such a memory to carry around on your wrist all day.

Back to my best boyfriend ever. He saw a link to Laura Lombardi's earrings that she did for Of A Kind. In this case, there are 50 Of A Kind. And who has a pair now?! ME. How sweet is he? How cool are these? How lucky am I?? Very, very, very.
Check her online store, good sale going on!
