target: shoes and prabal.

I was cruising the Target today and they just continue to KILL it. These shoes are amazing! Love the Marni-ish Patricias and I want to get into the strappy stiletto game without investing too much so the Vintas are perfect. All at Target.com. Also, I wasn't into the Prabal Gurung until I saw the whole look HERE. I am really feeling the all floral everything.

target: rodarte, harajuku mini, and more!

Hit the December 1st Target thing. Was... mildly impressed. Tons left. The only thing remotely low was the Rodarte wrapping paper. I left one of the shelf when I bought the limit of 5. I actually can wallpaper a room in these planets!

Also, remember THIS. Did not happen. Not even close. But these hairpins will do just fine. I wish they were all silver. When I returned the dress, I cruised the shoes. Children's dresses might not fit (at all), BUT these size 5 girl's shoes sure do! Kid's shoes are like little boats, so round and wide, I love it! And they were 20 bucks! I suppose because they are the same shoe they sell in size 1, which can basically fit in the palm of your hand. Can't sell that for more then a 20. Anyway, very holiday and darling.

bonadrag. fall 2012.

If I could do a seasonal update from anywhere, it would be bonadrag. Best curated online shopping anywhere. This is what I would be adding for fall. A dear friend of mine recently decided to pledge love forever to her number main man. They are planning a winter commitment party. It. Will. Be. Just. The. Best. I was kicking it with her niece a few weeks back who couldn't be prouder to have been asked to be a part of the big day. As we discussed the most pressing question- WHAT TO WEAR?!, she said she didn't love dresses and really wanted to wear red suspenders. I mean. How cool can you be?? I've been thinking about it ever since. I once owned a pair of navy velvet trousers that I wore to threads and also a pair of men's tuxedo pants. Never felt so good as when walking in those slouching down and all buttoned up on top. Menswear as evening wear is just everything. I added a foppish bow tie to smarten it up. And big ole brogues to anchor it all.

david koma x greyhounds = everything.

It is ABOUT time someone did a collection based on these super beautiful and a little bit weird looking animals! Shelby sent me the link to these, she is basically my Google Alerts. I would love anything with a greythound it, but these go beyond. The shoes are amazing. Dagger point, high high pitch, that little loafer front. I die a million.

The shoes were a collaboration with Alain Quilici. Koma also made these radical greyhound sweater dresses. Greyhounds or snakes you ask? It's always a little hard to tell. I like the white one best, look at that little sneaky smile. 

Apparently he was inspired by these painting done by Giovanni Boldini, a greyhound enthusiast. (I would imagine he was anyway.) This is NOT what I look like when I walk greyhounds.

This IS how I look like when greyhounds try to get on the couch and watch movies with me and steal all the space. It's pretty dead on. And that guy looks very Mister Marmol-ish. Maybe we sat for this and I don't remember. 

I don't know when his next greyhound collection is coming out but I just sent him this photo in case he needs inspiration for a resort line. The colors are very cruise-esque and the bananas and monkeys-- very tiki. Very tropical. Very so hot right now. I am sure he will appreciate it. Looking forward to a bunch of models stomping down the runway with their tongues hanging out in the next couple months.

topshop swan song.

Did. You. KNOW. About TopShop's personal shopping service?! It is BANANAS. So... I am in TopShop, like usual, when this darling girl asks if I would like to start a fitting room. Of course I do. She takes me things and casually mentions they will be in the Personal Shopping. Ugh. (I thought to myself.) What does that even mean? It MEANS, I come to find out, you get a great big room! With a real door! And they offer you Diet Coke! Well, the offer all kinds of things but I selected Diet Coke. And the girl brought me things! She noticed my large pile of swan items (HERE), and suggested these:

I can't wait to go back over and over. But I'm not really sure how it works. If I can just walk in and ask for the DC or if I have to have a particular set of items in my arms... or. OH! I didn't mention the boyfriend area. There is a room with many couches and cupcakes under domes and big jars of candy or mints. There were several guys hanging out reading mags in there and all of them got offered drinks as well. It's so good.

Their swan prints are so so killing it. I love anything that even vaguely resembles Mister Marmol. Horses, zebras, lost of birds and ducks, giraffes, and of course swans. Little dreamboats, the whole lot of them.

BTW, I bought those shoes. That personal shopper was really good.

These are the most amazing. The iris can herpen x United Nude Iris. They remind me of dinosaurs and confetti system and also the prettiest armadillo that ever was. I want to wear this tinsel armadillo costume on my feet! UNFORTUNATELY, they cost about rent. Twice. So, wasn't going to happen. I dreamed of the day some one would knock them off into affordable territory. Now I dream of the day SOMEONE else knocks them off. Much better.

What is this junky thing? I was thrilled for 30 seconds when I saw them on NastyGal then immediately disappointed. I tracked them to a website for Ellie Shoes- mostly your run of mill stripper shoes (read: lucite, more lucite. Highest stilettos and also a ton more lucite.) And these are oddly in the Bettie Page section. The Bettie Page page seems to be the Jeffrey Campbell knock off page, you can find junky Night Walks right next to junky Lorettas.

neon is the new neon.

I've spent the whole winter trying to figure out this weird not blazer but shadow of blazer. Over dresses? With shorts and tights? High waisted skirts or low slung harem pants? Everything was wrong. Who knew this weird not blazer but shadow of blazer was meant for SUMMER? Oh, DUH! Neon bra. Lime Crime lipstick. And done.

I like these stacked up sandals that have been floating around. "Flatforms," as the kids are calling them. I really want some. In general I am a big fan of any clunky, awkward footwear. The more hoof-like, the better. And these are actually pretty, too. The ones below... more just still awkward and clunky. Totally fine by me.

Every time I see something spendy I think to myself "Could I buy that for the wedding?" I mean, I know I want to wear the highest heels I can find for the ACTUAL wedding, but maybe I need something sparkly and flat and very crabby to wear during the... walk back from the wedding? And then I can but $900 sandals?

Red crab migration. I've only heard of it. This year I hope to witness them click clack their way from... wherever it is they come from, and straight onto my feets.
