blackmilk: for the beach loving nerd in you.

I don't even like star wars but I kept a cardboard c3po in my house for a year (before Timbo made me throw it away) because it was gold. And a robot. Now YOU can BE your own c3po!
Running more to my tastes, movie wise, here is a LOTR suit. Yep, I use just the letters because that's how much I love the books. I'm so busy reading all the million pages I have no time to say all the words of the title. This suit. My precious.

What is up with Black Milk and their CRAY swim suits? Browse HERE. It doesn't stop at swim suits (get a Gandalf dress if you want, and you totally do!), or these couple books. There are cosmic leggings and map dresses for a variety of epic fantasy ladies!

BLACKMILK. check it.

marie turnor: snak attack!

I just like things that look like other, boring things. I have the glass ziploc bag for chrissakes. Timmy has a leather lunch bag and I've been wanting to get a couple more, you know eco conscious and all that, and then THIS! A marriage of eco friendly brown bagging and expensive items modeled after regular every day items. I will take one. Or two, cause I really want a brown one and a metallic. Three, that giant one is rad too.

the picnic - $185.
the snak - $117 to $275.
the feast - $280.
Other options (can there be a knock off of something that knocked off LUNCH BAGS??)
brown bag it - $85.
leather paper bag - $130.

target: shoes and prabal.

I was cruising the Target today and they just continue to KILL it. These shoes are amazing! Love the Marni-ish Patricias and I want to get into the strappy stiletto game without investing too much so the Vintas are perfect. All at Target.com. Also, I wasn't into the Prabal Gurung until I saw the whole look HERE. I am really feeling the all floral everything.

laura lombardi: christmas edition.

I got Timmy's brother's best girl in the Watson family draw. I got her these most amazing triangle earrings from Laura Lombardi. Handmade, very Chicago, and so so cool that I stared at them for about 20 minutes before wrapping. I kept thinking, I'll just go grab her something else and maybe keep these for me? Terrible. Christmas Spirit won out and she will get these in the mail shortly. I hope she doesn't read this blog. It shouldn't have been that hard a decision seeing as I DID get myself a little something when I went to pick those up:
Little cutie barely hexagon studs. I saw them on my pal a week earlier and scooped them as soon as I could. The BEST basic.
AND!! A Christmas surprise! I dropped this necklace off for repair a bit back (Mister Marmol got a little overzealous and had sent it soaring across the room during a particularly enthusiastic greeting) and just got it back! Like Christmas in July! Except for that it actually Christmas. A little tree decorating and we are officially ready for the Holidays.

target: rodarte, harajuku mini, and more!

Hit the December 1st Target thing. Was... mildly impressed. Tons left. The only thing remotely low was the Rodarte wrapping paper. I left one of the shelf when I bought the limit of 5. I actually can wallpaper a room in these planets!
Also, remember THIS. Did not happen. Not even close. But these hairpins will do just fine. I wish they were all silver. When I returned the dress, I cruised the shoes. Children's dresses might not fit (at all), BUT these size 5 girl's shoes sure do! Kid's shoes are like little boats, so round and wide, I love it! And they were 20 bucks! I suppose because they are the same shoe they sell in size 1, which can basically fit in the palm of your hand. Can't sell that for more then a 20. Anyway, very holiday and darling.

champagne and lace? freixenet and oysho.

If you aren't wild about the sequin underthings below, these might be a little more your speed. Feel free to let your lingerie speak more to the champagne half of the Champagne & Sequins directive. The champagne being Freixenet, my most favorite of all the low budget champagnes due to it's sleek and pretty black bottle. Who's gonna wear a dress that shows off the back of that strappy bra?!

OYSHO, HERE.

Do YOU know what you are wearing to Champagne and Sequins The Fourth, The Second? Do you know what you are wearing UNDER that awesome, holiday, super fierce I am sure you are planning on wearing? How bout MORE sequins?! Yes, please. H&M. Killin it this year with the Holiday Lingerie. I am particularly fond of the little blue glittery number.

See the whole collection HERE.

Oh hey, Laetitia Casta. You want to come to C&S? You want to wear this? You don't feel like wearing anything over and want to know if we can backlight you all night? Yeah, no problem.

target holiday collaboration collection!

I will admit. I was a leeetle excited about this One. Legendary. Partnership. (that will probs happen every single year.) 24 designers! In collaboration with Neiman Marcus! 50 GIFTS! Then they came out and it's... eh. I really wanted to get my paws on a Marchesa dress for my goddaughter until I saw it. I thought I'd for sure want whatever Marc Jacobs was offering until I saw it. Oscar de la Renta for Dogs! Yes! Until I saw it. Here are the couple things I actually do want. Mostly though, I just want every single package of that Rodarte wrapping paper. To wallpaper my entire house with.

Rag and Bone Sweater, $69.99 and Shot Glasses, $19.99.
Rodarte Wrapping Paper (!!!), $7.99

pamela love love.

Did you get me in the holiday gift draw where the limit is $300? GREAT. This is what I would like. Pamela Love has recently added an Objects section to the website. Selling all kinds of Objects! This is two feet across, five feet long. And a million feet amazing.
Also newly added (I  keep a pretty tight handle on what is happening on the PL website), a Friends section. This is so so pretty. All one of a kind crystal rings. By Crystal Benezra.
In other news, this is kinda of awesome. Maybe awful? I'm interested. Bleach Black DIY maybe now a real thing.

margiela wish list.

I did not sleep in a tent for Margiela x H&M. My bank account told me I couldn't. I am hope hope hoping against hope this collection goes the way of Versace for H&M and hits those clearance racks hard. I must have a candy clutch. And that dress belongs at Champagne and Sequins the Fourth (The Second). Instead, I wore this jammie top from last years Marni treasure hunt. Still good.

bonadrag. fall 2012.

If I could do a seasonal update from anywhere, it would be bonadrag. Best curated online shopping anywhere. This is what I would be adding for fall. A little more texture (velvets, haircalf, and silk), some length on sleeves and dress, and for sure a little creepy goosebump raising fun. Fall in Chicago is always a blustery, leaf rustling good time. Something is in the air and I would like those tarot cards to tell me what.

1) Edith A Miller White Stripe Maxi, $156.
2) Marais Black Strappy  Haircalf Flat, $125.
3) The Wild Unknown Tarot Cards, $40.
4) Mara Hoffman Beaded Silky Twill Pants, $396.
5) Society For Rational Double Raglan Sweater, $142.
6) Samantha Pleet Red Velvet Shorts, $230.
7) Lila Rice XL Crescent Hoops, $140.

lime crime/cream theory.

I've been wearing this lipstick so much I've started to think it's a "subtle" look. Just a little purple shellac, nbd..
Lime Crime D'Lilac, Zara sweater, Grey Ant Status Shades.

Found a PILE of bone Theory leather stuffed onto rack at Nordstrom Rack this weekend. And NONE of it fit. I would have paid anything for the long sleeve in my size. One arm, one leg, give it to me, I can't find it online anywhere, CAN YOU?!
All in all in a good day though because I had one of my two or three times yearly frappucinos. Blendy coffee. Get. Out. Of. Town.

whitewashed.

I really, really love turtle shells. I just found bleached shells at Jaysons for a tiny fortune. Especially since I want only the big ones. Too pretty though, yeah?

Or what about someone golden shells? I would like those too. I thought I wanted these paper-mache ones from West Elm, but not after I realized there were real ones to be had.

Jaysons Sun-Bleached Turtle Shell, $85 or $150 depending on size.
West Elm Paper-Mache Tortoise Shell, $79.

fall forward.

Chicago's fall is pretty fleeting. And also my favorite. Knit everything without bulky jackets, layers, layers, layers. And shoes! This is my Fall2012 short list.

the cross and the crown: king onye label.

Once I went to a party and wore a gingham peplum dress. A girl told me she loved it. She looked radical and I told her so. JUST LIKE THAT- PALS. Turns out she was even more the best then I knew then. Her name is Onye, she designs jewelry, is so thrilled with living her life, and is one of the most genuine people I have even come across. I got engaged to TimmyWats and JUST LIKE THAT- EARRINGS. They appeared in the mail a few days later. I love her. I do.
Her line, King Onye Label, is great and getting better all the time. She did a line of doorknocker earrings that were to die for and has moved onto necklaces. I adore it all, and this is top of my list. So simple, so pretty.
